Practice Drills: Structuring a Multi Jurisdiction Succession Plan
A practice-first masterclass for senior HNIs, family office principals and wealth professionals advising UHNW families whose heirs and assets sit in more than one country. Working from a sample Indian promoter family with a resident founder, children in the UK, UAE and Singapore, a US citizen grandchild, and assets spread across listed Indian shares, Mumbai real estate, a Dubai apartment, a London flat and overseas portfolios, you will map domicile, residence and citizenship for every family member, build an asset register by situs and governing law, and work out which succession law actually decides who inherits each asset. You will then measure US estate and gift tax, UK inheritance tax and Indian tax and FEMA exposure in rupees, test treaty relief, and choose between an Indian private trust, an offshore holding structure, situs wills and lifetime gifts. Every drill ends with a decision you can defend to the family. The course closes with three end-to-end drills and a before-you-sign scorecard. Educational content only, not legal, tax or investment advice.
