Practice Drills: Designing an Enterprise Wide Financial Crime Risk Framework
A practice-first masterclass for senior compliance, forensic and investigation professionals. You work one detailed sample case: a fictional Indian financial group with an NBFC, a SEBI-registered stock broker and a prepaid payment instrument issuer, each under a different regulator and each running its own financial crime controls in a silo. Your job is to design one enterprise-wide framework for it. You map the regulatory perimeter under the PMLA, RBI, SEBI and the Prevention of Corruption Act, build a financial crime risk taxonomy, score inherent risk by customer, product, channel and geography, test controls and derive residual risk, and write a risk appetite the board can actually use. You then design the governance model and management information, calibrate customer due diligence, transaction monitoring and screening, build an alert-to-case investigation workflow with correct reporting to FIU-IND, RBI and SEBI, and set up independent testing. The course closes with a board presentation and a stress test of your framework against real Indian enforcement patterns.
