Practice Drills: Constructing a Global Macro Worldview Memo
A hands-on drill course for senior macro investors, fund managers making top-down calls, and strategists who need to put a worldview on paper and defend it. You work through one simulated assignment end to end: an India-focused multi-asset fund needs its quarterly global macro worldview memo, and you are writing it. You will assemble a macro dashboard across growth, inflation, liquidity, and external indicators, read what curves, breakevens, and FX forwards already price, place the world and India in a regime, and model how the Fed and the RBI are likely to react. You will then build a probability-weighted scenario tree, map each branch to outcomes for the Nifty, G-Secs, the rupee, gold, and crude, choose the cleanest expression for each view, size the book against a risk budget, and set invalidation triggers. The course closes with a red-team pre-mortem and a complete worldview memo written for an investment committee.
