Advanced AML Program Design for Financial Institutions
A concept course for chief compliance officers, senior forensic auditors and financial crime investigators who already know the basics of KYC and suspicious transaction reporting and now need to design the program itself. It treats an AML program as a system rather than a binder of policies: a risk assessment that drives every downstream decision, a governance model with clear accountability for the Designated Director and Principal Officer, customer due diligence that scales across digital onboarding, and a detection architecture of monitoring scenarios, screening and case management that is calibrated with data instead of vendor defaults. You work through the Indian architecture of the PMLA, the PML (Maintenance of Records) Rules, FIU-IND and the RBI, SEBI and IRDAI requirements, what India's 2024 FATF mutual evaluation means for program design, and how to measure effectiveness, manage model risk, prepare for independent testing and learn from Indian enforcement actions. The course closes with the threats the next generation of programs must handle: mule account networks, virtual digital asset service providers and AI-driven monitoring.
